ZONTA CLUB OF GREATER RIZAL II:

A Legacy of Leadership and Service

The Zonta Club of Greater Rizal II was established in June 1992 through the leadership of Charter President Nona Ricafort of the Greater Rizal Foundation and Myrna T. Yao, who would become the club’s founding president. They convened a core group of friends and colleagues at the Yao residence in Quezon City, planting the seeds of what would soon become a dynamic and service-driven organization.

From this dedicated group, the Zonta Club of Greater Rizal II was born. On October 9, 1992, during a formal ceremony held at the Edsa Shangri-La Plaza Hotel, Senate President Neptali Gonzales officiated the induction of the club’s first set of directors and officers. This historic event took place during the term of Lt. District Governor Olivia Ferry and Imelda “Dandy” Gomez. The club was officially recognized as Club No. 1395, Area I, District 17 in the Zonta International Roster of Members.

The Zonta Club in Area I, Metropolitan Manila, known as Greater Rizal II, has for its mission the improvement of the status of women and children worldwide with special emphasis on Filipinos, who are part of its geographic jurisdiction.

The club will achieve its goals by fostering women’s equality in education, health and economics; and by providing social and legal services without regard to status, color, creed or social orientation.

Club 1395’s vision is to provide women and their children within its area of responsibility, access to social and medical services that are necessary for their health and well-being, as well as provide a clear understanding of health and safety issues that affect them.

ZCGR2  seek to provide long term  development in women’s empowerment and well-being for the 2016-2018 Biennium by establishing self-sustaining projects and working in collaboration with local government units.
