Project Description:

In continued partnership with Wipe Every Tear (WET)—a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and restoring the lives of women exploited in the sex trade—our club provided direct support to their Safe Shelter Program, which offers rescued women a secure, stable, and nurturing environment.

On January 8, 2025, the club donated ₱20,000.00 to assist with the day-to-day operational needs of the shelter, such as daily meals, monthly groceries, and educational support. More than just a roof over their heads, the Safe Shelter serves as a haven where the women can heal, learn, and rebuild their lives away from the dangers of the red-light district.

This marks the fifth project in our ongoing partnership with WET, reflecting Zonta’s sustained commitment to empowering vulnerable women through practical, long-term support.

Zonta International Goals Addressed:

• Goal 1: Ending violence against women and girls – Supporting the Safe Shelter directly contributes to protecting survivors from further harm.

• Goal 2: Providing safe and inclusive spaces – The project promotes a secure environment where women can recover and pursue education and personal development.

• Goal 3: Advocating for women’s rights and dignity – The donation underscores the club’s role in uplifting women and promoting their right to live in safety and dignity.
