Zonta Cares: Carina Relief Operation

Project Title: Zonta Cares: Carina Relief Operation Date: August 5, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMVenue: Various Locations, Quezon CityNumber of Beneficiaries: 300 FamiliesNumber of Volunteers: 3Classification of Recipients: FamiliesLocal Stakeholders: N/A Project Description: In response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina, our club led a coordinated relief operation under the banner of “Zonta Cares.” Contributions from Zonta clubs across the district were pooled to purchase sacks of rice, 100 bottles of liquid chlorine, and 100 units of all-purpose cleaner to support affected families. On August 5, 2024, these relief goods were distributed to 300 families in four severely affected areas in Quezon City, namely: Rona’s Garden, Loyola Quirino 2-C Barangay Hall Obrero Street, Bagumbayan East Kamias Barangay Hall This initiative aimed to provide not only food relief but also essential hygiene supplies to help ensure clean water and safe living conditions in the aftermath of the typhoon. The project is a testament to Zonta’s mission of service, solidarity, and swift response in times of crisis. Zonta Club of Greater Rizal 2 Holds Strategic Planning at the Metropolitan Club Makati

On July 18, 2025, the Zonta Club of Greater Rizal 2 gathered at the Metropolitan Club in Makati for its much-anticipated Strategic Planning Session. This annual activity served as an opportunity for members to reflect on past achievements, evaluate ongoing programs, and map out future directions in line with Zonta’s global mission of empowering women and uplifting communities through service and advocacy. Setting Clear Goals for the Future The session brought together dedicated members of the club to carefully assess current projects and identify priority areas for the coming year. Discussions revolved around strengthening community partnerships, expanding advocacy programs, and ensuring that every initiative contributes meaningfully to the advancement of women and children. By establishing clear goals and measurable outcomes, the Strategic Planning activity ensured that the club’s resources and efforts are aligned with its vision and purpose. According to President Licup: “Our strategic planning session a few months was a true testament to the strength and unity of Zonta Club of Greater Rizal II. We’re incredibly grateful to all who attended and lent their voices to conceptualize our priority projects for this Biennium. Together, we are charting a course toward impactful action and meaningful change! With our focuses on Gender Equality (SDG 5), Climate Justice, Ending Violence Against Women, and Education Equality, we’re ready to tackle the challenges ahead and continue empowering women and girls in our community and beyond.” A Collaborative Spirit True to Zonta’s values, the planning session was marked by teamwork, open dialogue, and shared commitment. Every member was given the chance to contribute insights, propose new ideas, and voice concerns—all towards building a unified roadmap for service. This spirit of collaboration reflects Zonta’s belief that progress is achieved when diverse perspectives are valued and collective action is prioritized. Strengthening Zonta’s Impact The event also reaffirmed the club’s dedication to supporting Zonta International’s key advocacy areas, including: Ending violence against women and children Promoting education and leadership opportunities for women Improving access to health and safety programs Building resilient communities through service With these guiding principles, the Zonta Club of Greater Rizal 2 is determined to create a stronger impact not only in Rizal but also across communities where its presence and partnerships extend. Looking Ahead The Strategic Planning 2025 at the Metropolitan Club Makati marked a new chapter for the Zonta Club of Greater Rizal 2. With renewed passion, a clear direction, and strong camaraderie, the club is ready to embark on another year of meaningful service.

First General Membership Meeting – Philippine Star Feature

Project Title: First General Membership Meeting – Philippine Star Feature Description: Our first General Membership Meeting served as a Meet and Greet event, warmly welcoming both new and existing members. Each new member introduced themselves by sharing their name, background, and personal motivation for joining the organization. This meaningful exchange fostered a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and shared purpose. The newly elected set of officers was also formally presented during the meeting, marking the beginning of a new term with renewed energy and leadership. The event successfully promoted camaraderie and collaboration among all attendees. Highlighting its significance, the meeting was featured in the Philippine Star, further affirming the club’s active presence and growing impact.

Appreciation Night and Induction Ceremony

Project Title: Appreciation Night and Induction Ceremony Description: A heartfelt Thanksgiving and Welcome Event was held to honor the outgoing President and to formally induct the incoming President into office. The event served as both a moment of reflection and a celebration of continuity in leadership. It was graced by 8 dignitaries and 4 Presidents from fellow Zonta clubs, making it a meaningful evening of recognition, gratitude, and camaraderie within the Zonta community.
