Project Title: Typhoon Kristine Relief Goods Distribution Date: October 28–29, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMVenue: Batangas and Albay, Bicol RegionNo. of Beneficiaries: 150 FamiliesNo. of Volunteers: 2Classification of Recipients: FamiliesLocal Stakeholders: Philippine Navy Project Description: In the aftermath of Typhoon Kristine, which severely affected communities in Batangas and the Bicol region, our club extended support by participating in a relief goods distribution initiative in partnership with the Philippine Navy. The club donated essential goods to be distributed to 150 families displaced or impacted by the typhoon. The Philippine Navy facilitated the logistics and delivery to remote and hard-to-reach areas. This collaboration emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships in responding effectively to natural disasters. The initiative reflects Zonta’s ongoing commitment to supporting families in crisis, with a particular emphasis on uplifting women and children during times of vulnerability. (FFCCCII)Services Offered: Medical Consultations, Free Medicines, Distribution of Eyeglasses Project Description: As part of Zonta’s commitment to community well-being and equitable access to healthcare, the club partnered with the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and the Bacoor Local Government Unit to provide free medical and dental services to underserved families in Bacoor, Cavite. On October 27, 2024, over 500 individuals received basic medical consultations, prescribed medicines, and eyeglasses during the half-day mission. The activity aimed to ease the health burdens of low-income families by providing accessible and essential healthcare, especially for those with limited access to regular medical services. By combining resources and expertise through inter-organizational collaboration, the project ensured that both preventive and immediate care were available—contributing to healthier families and stronger communities. Zonta International Goals Addressed: Goal 1: Advancing women’s and family health – Access to basic healthcare supports women and families, especially in marginalized communities. Goal 2: Promoting equitable access to essential services – The mission helps reduce health disparities through outreach and free services. Goal 3: Building strong partnerships for community impact – The collaboration with local government and FFCCCII exemplifies Zonta’s commitment to collective action and service.
